These are hectic days and in many ways a campaign cornerstone, here in Dubai. Not only have we launched our new GC32, but we can also remove the covers and announce the 2016 lineup of the crew of SAP Extreme Sailing Team:
Renato Conde, Bowman.
The german born Renato, currently residing in Portugal, has again joined the team and besides being a world class sailor he also brings 15 years of boat building skills and high level expertise in technical support, especially with carbon fiber laminates.
Pierluigi “PG” de Felice, Trimmer.
The italian currently residing in Auckland, New Zealand is a veteran America’s Cup sailor with 4 cup campaigns on the resume. He is also studying sail design and brings considerable foiling experience to the team.
Mads Emil “Smil” Lübeck Stephensen, Floater. The Copenhagen based dane is a familiar face – also the youngest – of the team, spending the whole 2015 Extreme Sailing Series with Jes and Rasmus ultimately ending at 2nd place overall.
Jes Gram-Hansen, Helmsman.
Jes is co-skippering the boat with Rasmus and is also the co-founder of the team. Jes is a week known player at the Extreme Sailing Series now entering the 5th season on the tour. A master match racer and an America’s Cup starting helmsman with many merits in pro sailing circuits. Jes shall both maneuver the boat in close combat with the opponents and at the same time balancing the boat at max. speed.
Rasmus Køstner, Tactician.
Rasmus is the other skipper and co-founder of SAP Extreme Sailing Team and has been partnering with Jes for many years in various campaigns from the World Match Racing Tour, Volvo Ocean Race in-port tactician and to America’s Cup. Rasmus is in charge of finding the optimal paths on the course.

SAP continues to deliver enhanced analysis tools both pre and post-race, providing sailors, media and fans with greater insight into the on-water action than previously available. Both Jes Gram-Hansen and Rasmus Kostner, continue to work closely with SAP to develop enhanced performance analysis features for this year’s Extreme Sailing Series. Features which support the decision-making process of sailors in order to increase the effectiveness of their racing strategy and execution.
